Threat Assessment is a process for evaluating and verifying perceived threats, including assessing their likelihood. The process of threat assessment begins with the initial assessment of a threat, followed by a review of its seriousness, and finally the creation of plans to address the underlying weakness. We also conduct vulnerability assessments to determine a client’s current state of readiness should a threat occur and to determine if anything is being missed.

At Management Safeguards we utilize an easy to understand Threat Matrix to assist in determining what actions should be taken for each threat, and more importantly, what threats a particular industry may face.

Our team is a member of the International Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP). We utilize a network of former Federal, State, and local law enforcement as well as military, and facility professionals. Our experience is broad in both assessments and response.

Case Study:

A public utility contacted us to handle a threat from a terminated employee. The ex-employee threatened several former co-workers and the infrastructure as well. We immediately placed those threatened under protection while we located the subject and began a de-escalation process. Over the course of this case, the subject was involuntarily committed, a weapon was seized and we continued to follow-up for several months. By being proactive, we were able to help the utility avoid a potentially life-threatening situation and resolve the case with minimal impact on the individuals and business.
